The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is a university in Baden-Wuerttemberg and National Laboratory of the Helmholtz Association. It originated as a merger of theUniversity of Karlsruhe (TH) (now the South Campus) with the Research CenterKarlsruhe (now North Campus). It is located in the center of Karlsruhe (South Campus)and on the district municipality Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen in the district of Karlsruhe(North Campus), forming a corporation under public law. Through the collaboration, synergies and generate research and teaching more closely linked, innovation andtechnology transfer are enhanced. The KIT is a member of  TU9 Deutsch Institute of Technology was in the Excellence Initiative awarded the KIT in 2006 for its vision and has since addition of LMU and TU Munich’s three initials and now to nine in adultmembers of the group of “elite universities”.

History
History of the University of Karlsruhe
The founding of the Polytechnic of Karlsruhe was made by Grand Duke Louis of Baden on 7 October 1825 in Karlsruhe. It was inspired by Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. From 1832 the institution was affiliated to a State Forestry School. In 1865 the Polytechnic was elevated to Grand Duke Friedrich I of Technology (hence the nickname in 1902 introduced “Fridericiana” comes), but was continued until 1885, the name of Polytechnic University. 1886 Heinrich Hertz demonstrated the still existing and used Hertz Auditorium, the existence of electromagnetic waves. In 1899 the Technical University of Karlsruhe, the right to award doctorates. Four years later, with Magdalena Meub in Karlsruhe registered for the first time at a technical university in Germany a woman to a degree program. University of Amsterdam (niderl. Universiteit van Amsterdam, UvA) is one of the largest in Europe (euro 487 million budget, 25,000 students, 5000 employees).

As of 1961 national government took over funding from the city and appointment of professors was transferred to the Board of Governors. The university ceased to be the Gemeentelijke Universiteit and finally became the Universiteit van Amsterdam. The city’s influence ended completely in 1971, when the appointment was handed over to the Executive Board.
In 1969, the university became nationwide news when the university’s administrative center at the Maagdenhuis was occupied by students who wanted more democratic influence. Iona College is located in New Rochelle, New York, 20 miles north of Manhattan in suburban Westchester County. The college occupies 35 acres (140,000 m²) on North Ave. The college also operates a Graduate Center in Pearl River, Rockland County, New York.
There are 3,000 students, and complete record of 4,800. The college offers BA, BS, BPs, and the degree of BBA undergraduate students, and several training programs to obtain a masters degree. History

In 1940, the idea – and ideal – of the College’s founding community of Brothers was to start a small, affordable college for the sons of New York’s working class. At the time, the Christian Brothers taught in seven high schools in the Archdiocese of New York, including Iona Prep, All Hallows, Rice High School, and Power Memorial. They recognized that many of their graduates could not afford the cost of local universities, and so they started Iona, opening new paths to economic and social advancement.
Iona, listed in the US News and World Report’s annual “America’s Best Colleges 2009″ and The Princeton Review’s “Best Northeastern Colleges” 2008 edition, offers undergraduate degrees in liberal arts, science, and business administration, as well as master of arts, master of science and master of business administration degrees and numerous post-graduate certificate programs. U.S. News & World Report has ranked Iona College among the best in the nation advancing eight positions to rank 30 out of 86 northern institutions in the 2009 edition of U.S. News & World Report America’s Best Colleges guide.

Engineering University Harbin

University of Cádiz – UCA (Spain)

Founded on the 30th October 1979, the University of Cadiz is a growing institution, closely interwoven
with the economic and social fabric of the province of Cadiz. Situated in southern Spain, opposite the coast of Africa, the University had 24000 students 1999/2000 academic year, with 1,499 lecturers.

The UCA has its roots in the Faculty of Medicine which developed from the Royal Naval College of Surgery founded in 1748. It is interesting to note that this College of Surgery adopted a system of awarding its best students a grant in order to continue their training in the most important European centres.

It was in Cadiz that, for the first time in Europe, authorisation was given to combine studies in medicine and surgery. Today, on the threshold of the XXI century and in an increasingly demanding and competitive world, our university is aware that the quality of higher education is closely linked to cooperation with the economic environment and interuniversity relations.

Given its location, it is not surprising that Cádiz is a University specialized in Marine Sciences and Nautical Studies and has one of the most important institutions devoted to marine studies in Spain, the “Centro Andaluz Superior de Estudios Marinos”.CASEM is made up of two faculties and one school which qualify students in Marine Science (Marine Environment and Marine Resources), Nautical Science (Seafaring, Marine Engineering, Naval Radioelectronics) and Naval Engineering.

The university facilities are located in a number of different campuses: the Cadiz Campus, the Algeciras Bay Campus, the Jerez Campus and the Río San Pedro Campus in Puerto Real. The first houses the majority of the Faculties and Schools of the University of Cadiz, including the Faculty of Medicine and the Senior School of Engineering. The Rector’s Office is also located on this campus. On the Algeciras Bay Campus we find the Algeciras Higher Polytechnic School and the Algeciras University School of Nursing. The Jerez Campus is home to the Faculties of Law and Social Sciences and Communications. Finally, in Puerto Real includes, among others, the University School of Naval Technical Engineering, the Faculty of Nautical Science, and the Faculty of Marine and Environmental Sciences.

From its beginnings, this Andalusian public university has worked hard on the improvement of its facilities and on achieving a high standard of quality. In approximately 15 years the institution constructed, among other building and infrastructure, a new Philosophy and Arts Faculty; a Business Science and Economics Faculty; an Employment Science Faculty and a Health Sciences Faculty at the Cadiz campus.
